The late XVIIIth century Transfiguration Cathedral in Odesa on a postcard from the late XIXth century
The cathedral was demolished by the Soviet authorities in 1936 and rebuilt in 2010, the restored building was heavily damaged by a russian missile strike on July 23, 2023

Well, this is one kind of way to play puzzle…
Kinds trying to piece together a fresco from a historical cathedral Russians bombed in Odesa this night.
You know this ongoing joke with the yearly bingo cards? In reference to the fact that the world has gotten so crazy. You know like, new headline “radioactive sharks are attacking Paris” or something like this, and everybody is like “*pulls out 2023 bingo card* radioactive sharks - check” or “didn’t have that one on my bingo card”… Black humor, for coping.
When I woke up this morning, I was literally thinking… I think I don’t want to turn my phone on just yet. I think I’ll have my coffee in peace before finding out what I missed last night. Probably Russians somehow poisoned the water supply of Ternopil now. Or some 1000 year old monestary was turned into dust. Or some new Intel leaked that Russia plans to bring back the burning pigs that charge at enemy elephants to cause chaos. Prigozhin probably tried to flee the continent but ended up on a plane full of snakes and now he’s dead. And his beloved nephew or cousin or something is so pissed that he tried to assassinate Putin in revenge, but he poisoned the wrong cookie and now the Kremlin staff’s pet dog is dead (and who knows where that will lead). Or ZNPP finally blew up now after all and, let’s say, in some weird butterfly effect way that affected Kim Jong Un and now we have a nuclear disaster on our hands plus North Korea is in the war. Totally possible… from Ukrainian perspective. Nothing would surprise us anymore.
In Ukraine we have daily (metaphorical) bingo cards, because there isn’t a single day that goes by without something crazy happening. On top of all the already crazy default war stuff. I’ve genuinely become a bit paranoid at this point to look at my phone in the morning, because every morning I’m thinking… What is it this time?!
Same for me.
I used to follow every news here. Now I can miss a whole week of news - not because nothing is happening - but because deaths and destruction some 100 km from me, or sometimes even 15 km from me is a USUAL THING.
I can go about my day, speaking to friends, watching movies, walking my dog, doing work, playing mobile games - all without opening any news, because I am completely desensitized now.

“French is such a beautiful, romantic language.”
“Cat, I farted.”
What? Isn’t “t” at the end of the word soundless in French? Also isn’t “ch” read like “sh”? Isn’t “chat” read like [sha:] in French or something?
Also, isn’t pété like… [pete], not [pi:ti:] - the way PT is pronounced in English?
So, isn’t it like [sha: je pe te]?
Not at all like Chat GPT sounds ([cha:t zhi: pi: ti:]

Russian logic is simple: if you place 1000 mines, enemy might find 999, but at least 1 of them will go off and give results
Was just browsing-cleaning my old playlists on YouTube.
Adding here for those, who still haven’t heard this masterpiece version of UA Hymn:
Btw the lyrics you commonly hear everywhere is NOT the full Hymn, but actually just first part - it plays during sports and others event like this, because the time is limited there, so everyone now thinks it’s all there is😔
No, it’s not. Here is the actual Hymn of Ukraine, translated into English by me:
Ukraine’s glory and resolve are still alive,
Brothers, fate will smile on us once again!
As dew evaporates under the rays of morning sun, so shall our foes be gone,
And we shall be the masters of our homes.
We offer our souls and our bodies when the fight for freedom calls.
We, whose sires were almighty brave Cossacks.
Rise from San to Don, my brothers, for the bloody battle!
Those who come to try and rule us will be purged from our land!
Black Sea will smile again, Grandfather Dnipro will rejoice,
And the fruits of good fortune will ripen.
We offer our souls and our bodies when the fight for freedom calls.
We, whose sires were almighty brave Cossacks.
Our ardor and honest work will bear great rewards.
As an echo in Carpathia mountains,
As a booming thunder in the steppes,
Ukraine’s song about freedom resounds,
Ukraine’s glory - a fear for its enemies.
We offer our souls and our bodies when the fight for freedom calls.
We, whose sires were almighty brave Cossacks.
